7 “Healthy” Foods You Should Never Eat For Your Heart

You’re eating healthy, trying to eat right, and watching your weight…or ARE you?

Just because a food is marketed as “healthy” or labeled as such on the package doesn’t mean it’s good for your heart. In fact, some of the most popular so-called “health foods” are loaded with unhealthy ingredients and artificial additives.

So what are the worst offenders? Here are 7 “healthy” foods you should never eat.

1. Low-Fat Salad Dressing

Most people think they are doing something good for their body when they eat low-fat… But Low-fat salad dressings are rich in sugar, additives, and preservatives. They are as bad as a normal salad dressing. In some cases worse...

2. Green Juice

Do you think that your favorite green juice is healthy? Think again. All the fruit used to sweeten your green juice makes it worse. Plus, most green juice contains only a tiny amount of fiber. That means you'll be hungry the second after you drink it.

3. Whole Wheat Bread

Whole wheat bread isn't as healthy as we’ve been told. In fact, whole wheat bread is rich in sugar and molasses. If you love bread, opt for bread with a Low GI label instead. Sourdough bread is a great alternative.

4. Veggie Chips

If I eat green food, then it is good, right? Wrong! Like potato chips, most veggie chips are deep-fried and salted. And of course, you won't get the nutrients you'd expect from a vegetable when it’s cooked like this.

5. Protein Bars

Protein is great, but not protein bars. Most protein bars contain artificial ingredients that can harm you. But, how about the sugar-free or low-carb protein bars? They are no better. The sweeteners in these bars can cause sugar cravings, weight gain, and are generally bad for your heart.

6. Yogurt

Yes, yogurt is a superfood for weight loss and gut health, but NOT flavored yogurt. It's packed with artificial colors, flavorings, and tons of sugar. It can be as bad as ice cream!

7. Veggie Burgers

You might think ditching those juicy beef patties for a vegetarian option might do you good. But think again. Veggie burgers are filled with salt, fat, and preservatives that make them bad!

It turns out that a lot of the so-called “healthy” foods we eat every day are actually not good for us at all. In fact, some of them can even be harmful.

So, the next time you go to the grocery store, be sure to avoid these so-called “healthy” foods. And if you’re not quite sure what to look for on the label, just refer back to our list of unhealthy “health” foods and avoid them like the plague!

And if there are any other sneaky “health” foods you’ve been eating, let me know in the comments below.

I always love to hear about new ways to ruin my diet!

This is a good article and so true. Why can’t these companies make healthy foods.

6/7 not bad….I will miss veggie chips. I was raised in Kenya until age 21 as such I have always gravitated towards natural foods. I never ate anything processed until I came to America. Now I realize how healthy my village life was. Thank you for sharing. Be well.

I have been both pleased to learn about and a bit se about two of my best food choices, first whole grains bread and also a portion of veggie chips, Snif snif! Thanks and keep your solid and so needed food education since marketing promotes fancy names for not so clean and lean grocery products!
