Drink Ginger for Better Blood Flow

Ginger is an amazing spice. It’s well-known to help relieve both morning sickness, warm the body, strengthen your immune system, and relieve sore muscles and joints. It also has anti-inflammatory and digestive health benefits like improving poor circulation, reducing nausea, bloating and abdominal discomfort.

Because it helps to improve blood flow around the body, ginger can prevent blood from stagnating in your body.

This is also good news for puffiness under your eyes and a great way to hide those dark shadows that are difficult to conceal. That’s because it works well as a diuretic, helping to flush out stored fluid and improve kidney function.

Ginger contains gingerols which are highly anti-inflammatory and help to improve joint pain associated with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Best part is, you don’t need a lot of ginger to enjoy its many benefits. Just adding a teaspoon of chopped fresh root ginger to smoothies, soups, dressings and stews will zest up your food and benefit your body.

That’s why today I’m sharing a delicious Anti-inflammatory Ginger, Pineapple and Mint Smoothie.

It’s a refreshing and cleansing ginger drink that can help improve body circulation, because it contains magnesium, chromium, and zinc… All minerals known to improve blood flow.

Anti-inflammatory Ginger, and Pineapple Mint Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 165g (1 cup) fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, chopped
  • 1 handful fresh mint leaves, long stems removed
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) cold water, to blend
  • 2-3 ice cubes
  • few drops of liquid Stevia, to taste (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender. Just use less water if you prefer a thicker smoothie.
  2. Blend on high for a minute or until well-combined.
  3. Add Stevia to sweeten, if you prefer but it tastes great without!
  4. Tastes best when served chilled.

The pineapple gives this drink a vibrant balance of a sweet and tangy flavor while the ginger enriches the juice with a slight spicy taste. Serve the juice over ice with some slices of lime and you have a deliciously vitamin-packed drink.

Enjoy!
